Telegram bot advertising: the complete 2026 guide

Telegram bot advertising means your ad post is delivered by a bot straight into a user’s private chat — right after they press /start or after another action. You pay per thousand impressions, and the bot owner earns from them. With HiViews you can go live in five steps: top up from $5, build a post, pick bot topics, set targeting and pass moderation.

What is Telegram bot advertising?

Telegram is full of bots people use every day: downloaders, music finders, AI assistants, games, quizzes, sticker makers. They have large, active audiences because each one solves a specific job. Bot advertising plugs into that flow: the user sends a command, and the bot delivers a sponsored post before or alongside its answer.

The big difference from channel ads is context. In a channel, your post competes with dozens of others in a feed, and a “view” counts even if someone scrolled past in half a second. In a bot, the ad arrives in a private chat as a reply to something the user just did, and it stays the latest message on screen for a moment. The user is looking at the chat, waiting for a response.

Bots don’t sell ads themselves — an ad network does. The owner connects the bot to the network via an API, the advertiser sets up a campaign, and the network decides who sees which post in which bot, enforces frequency caps and counts impressions.

Ad formats: welcome vs. regular impressions

HiViews has two ad placements, and they differ a lot in how much attention they get.

Welcome impression

The post arrives right after the user presses /start. That’s peak attention: the person has just opened the bot and is looking at the chat. Your ad comes first, then the bot shows its own greeting a couple of seconds later. Price: $6 per 1,000 impressions. In a given bot, one person sees a welcome ad at most once a day.

Regular impression

The post arrives elsewhere in the bot — for example, after the bot delivers a result: the file is downloaded, the answer is ready, the quiz is done. Attention is lower than after /start, but there are more such moments. Price: $3 per 1,000 impressions.

Why bot ads get noticed

  • Your post is seen in full. It’s a standalone message in a private chat, not a card in an endless feed.
  • Real, active users. An ad can only be shown in response to a genuine user action — a bot can’t blast ads to its whole user list.
  • No ad fatigue. On HiViews a person gets at most one ad per hour across the whole network and no more than six a day, so your post isn’t buried.
  • Precise targeting. Bot topic, audience language, Premium users, verified viewers, hourly schedule.
  • Fraud protection. Bots are checked by anti-fraud every hour, and impressions found fraudulent are refunded to the advertiser.

How to advertise in Telegram bots, step by step

  1. Sign in and top up

Open the web dashboard or the @HiViewsBot bot — both do the same things. Top up from $5 with USDT (TRC20) or CryptoBot (3% fee). Everything is billed in USD.

  2. Build your post

Use the post builder on the site with a live preview, or simply forward a ready-made post to the bot. You get Telegram formatting, a photo, video or GIF, colored buttons and premium emoji. Buttons are optional.

  3. Choose bot topics

There are 16 topics, including games, downloaders, music, movies, AI tools, utilities and quizzes. You can also target specific bots or exclude ones you don’t want.

  4. Set targeting and budget

Audience language, placement, frequency per person, schedule and, if you need speed, a boost. Details in the next section.

  5. Pass moderation

Every post is reviewed by a person. Once approved, impressions start automatically and stats appear in your dashboard.

The full walkthrough is in the advertiser guide.

Targeting options

  • Bot topics — 16 topics, plus picking or excluding individual bots.
  • Audience language. RU, UA, BY, KZ and UZ match the viewer’s Telegram language exactly; EN covers every other language, so it’s your “international” audience.
  • Premium users only — Telegram Premium subscribers, price ×2.
  • HiViews Verified — only viewers whose profiles pass our quality check and look like real accounts. No surcharge, but reach builds more slowly.
  • Frequency per person. Default is 1, so every impression goes to a new person and you pay for unique reach only.
  • Schedule by hour (Moscow time) and by date.
  • Click tracking — optional: the link goes through an instant hiviews.net redirect, and you see CTR for every bot.
  • Boost ×1.25–×2 — raises the price and your delivery priority when you need reach faster.

What it costs and how to plan a budget

The base price is fixed and the same for every topic: $6 per 1,000 welcome impressions and $3 per 1,000 standard ones. Options multiply it: Premium users only ×2, betting and gambling categories ×2, boost ×1.25 to ×2. HiViews Verified and picking specific bots don’t change the price.

It’s easiest to plan from reach. Say you want 20,000 people to see your post right after /start: 20 × $6 = $120. The same reach with regular impressions costs $60. Premium-only welcome impressions cost $12 per 1,000, so 20,000 of them is $240. Your balance is charged as impressions are delivered, and whatever is left stays there for your next campaign.

Sample ad post

A good bot ad is short. The user opened the bot for their own task, so you have a few seconds. Aim for six lines or fewer, one sentence with a clear benefit and an obvious next step.

Copy you can adapt:

Learn Spanish in 15 minutes a day 🎧
Bite-sized lessons right inside Telegram — no app, no sign-up. Your first week is free.

Buttons: “🎁 Claim free week” → your bot or landing page; “How it works” → a short explainer.

  • Lead with the benefit, in bold.
  • One to three relevant emoji, not one per word.
  • Add a photo, video or GIF — media makes the post stand out.
  • Use an action verb on the button: “Claim”, “Open”, “Try”.
  • Make a separate post per language — language is set per post.

Bot ads vs. other ways to reach Telegram users

Bot ads are one of several ways to reach people on Telegram. Here’s a fair comparison:

For a deeper look, read Bot ads vs. Telegram Ads.

Channel posts work well for niche audiences, but price and view quality depend entirely on the admin, and fake views are hard to spot in advance. Direct deals with bot owners (for example, buying a broadcast to the bot’s users) give you a big burst of reach, but with no moderation, guarantees or stats — it all runs on trust. A network removes those risks: you pay only for counted impressions, and suspicious ones are refunded.

How to measure results

Your dashboard shows how many impressions each campaign has received and how much was spent per day. With click tracking on, you also get CTR for every bot, so you can see which bots drive clicks and which ones to exclude.

From there it’s standard performance marketing: compare CTR across post variants, drop weak bots, shift delivery to the hours when your product is easiest to try. If reach is building slowly, check whether your targeting is too narrow, or turn on a boost.

Common mistakes

  • Over-narrow targeting at launch. Premium + Verified + one topic + a tight hourly window means tiny reach. Start broad, then narrow down based on stats.
  • Long copy. People read bot ads on the go. Anything beyond six lines belongs on your landing page.
  • Only one version. Run two or three variants and keep the one with the best CTR.
  • Breaking the rules. Posts that violate Telegram’s rules or the law won’t pass moderation. Check the rules first.

Pre-launch checklist

  • Balance topped up to cover the reach you need.
  • Placement chosen: welcome or standard.
  • Copy is six lines or fewer, benefit first.
  • Media uploaded, buttons point to working links.
  • Post language matches the audience language.
  • Topics selected, unwanted bots excluded.
  • Click tracking on if you want CTR.
  • Schedule matches the hours your audience is likely to act.
