How much does Telegram advertising cost: three formats, three pricing models
There are three main ways to buy ads on Telegram, and each bills for something different: a publication, impressions or clicks.
Channel posts: the channel sets the price
You deal with a channel’s admin directly or through an exchange and pay for the post to be published. The price is fixed per placement, not per actual view.

Telegram Ads price: set by an auction
Telegram Ads is Telegram’s official advertising platform. Its ads are short sponsored messages shown in public channels with large audiences. You pay per impression on a CPM model with an auction, so the price is not fixed and depends on competition between advertisers. The self-serve dashboard works through TON.
The format is strictly regulated: text length and styling are limited, and moderation is strict. The entry threshold is high for small tests — the platform is built for larger budgets. Ads in bots: a fixed price per impression or per click
An ad network connects many bots and sells impressions in them. You create a post, pick topics and languages, and the network spreads the impressions across its bots. The ad arrives in the chat with the bot as an ordinary message, with media and buttons. This is how HiViews works: the price is known in advance and is the same for every topic.

Telegram advertising cost per month
The monthly budget comes from volume. For impressions: impressions per day × 30 ÷ 1,000 × the price per 1,000 impressions. For clicks: clicks per day × 30 × the price per click.

Options multiply the result: example 2 for a Premium-only audience is $360 × 2 = $720. Spending is capped by the impression limit and your balance. The narrower the topics and languages, the slower the volume builds up.

How to calculate the cost of Telegram ads
The formulas are the same for channels, Telegram Ads and bots.
- Cost per 1,000 impressions (CPM) = spend ÷ impressions × 1,000.
- Cost per click (CPC) = spend ÷ clicks.
- Cost per result = spend ÷ target actions: subscriptions, sign-ups, purchases.
- Budget = impressions ÷ 1,000 × the price per 1,000 impressions.
A worked example
A hypothetical example, not a forecast. You bought 10,000 welcome impressions: 10,000 ÷ 1,000 × $6 = $60. Suppose 300 people clicked: $60 ÷ 300 = $0.20 per click. Suppose 30 of them signed up: $60 ÷ 30 = $2 per sign-up. Real numbers depend on the product and the post.

What it costs to set up Telegram ads

Does targeting cost extra

How to spend less
- Pay per click when the post is strong. Impressions are free; you pay $0.05 per click. Only posts with a catchy first line, a clear benefit and a visible button are accepted, and a campaign with almost no clicks is stopped. Details: pay-per-click ads in Telegram bots.
- Unique frequency. By default a person sees the post once per campaign.
- Topics and languages. Show the post where your audience is, in the language it is written in.
- Limit and schedule. The impression limit caps spending; the schedule cuts the hours when nobody responds.
- Test two posts. Run two versions on regular impressions, which cost half as much, and keep the one with the higher CTR.
- Edit while it runs. Topics, boost and the impression limit change in a running campaign without new moderation; to change the post, duplicate the campaign.
